The Oyster Bowl welcomed back Div 1 Football for the first time in 16 years when the ODU Monarchs narrowly edged out JMU in 2011.
For 2012 the game will once again be played in ODU's Ballard Stadium, this time against Delaware. Proceeds from the game go in part to help fund the Shriners' Children's Hospitals.
The game could have serious CAA implications as ODU will be coming in after tough games vs. UNH and Towson (as well as possibly revitalized teams from Richmond and 'Nova) while UD will have already faced off against UNH, Maine, W&M, and CAA trap-team extroardinaire URI.
Can Heinicke follow up with an improvement on his rookie season at ODU? Will stud QB transfer Trent Hurley put some air back into Delaware's offense? This looks like a great pre-season GOW pick.
