Just want to give everyone a heads up on the facts when it comes to watching games on ESPN3 via a TAB. I own the iPad, Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and just got the Touchpad in today (A whole 125 bucks new :)

For streaming ESPN3 games the HP touchpad is by far the best. The IPAD? we all know the iPad doesn't even support it. The Samsung Tab can barely stream it and can't use all the cool ESPN3 options like picture in picture ect... its horrible. Maybe the new Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich will change that.

Figured this would help people out being we FCS guys are relegated to ESPN3 most of the time.

Just a note if you are just doing email and browsing the the web the HP TouchPad is the is the best. Con is its a tank! and no apps.

In my honest opinion Web & Email? WebOS on the TouchPad wins hands down.

Hope this helps... according to google news if you search TouchPad HP is doing another run on $ 99 dollar units GOOD LUCK!

WatchESPN app on Ipad and IPhone provide all ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 streaming live and even on 3g.

Watched the Maine @ GSU game on my iphone at the airport on Saturday. Worked like a charm.

I'm on Verizon 3g with the Iphone and logged into WatchESPN via TimeWarner cable account and it worked great.

On my Ipad I logged in via my Time Warner cable account and used Wifi and it worked great also. I did not try my ipad on 3G service because I don't have unlimited data and would undoubtedly use all 2 gigs in a matter of minutes.

Wont let me do it it asked for my Time Warner login and it will give me access til 5pm then expire I have Comcast

OK! Now back to the original post being that WatchESPN isn't really available to most. www.espn3.com is best viewed (If you can't via an App) on the TouchPad

OK enough on the subject.. My original point I am sure applies to 50-60 percent of this board

Help a dummy here.

If I were ever to get a tablet, I assume I'd need to drop another $30ish a month with Verizon to get wifi access for it? I have an unlimited data plan for my Verizon smartphone (Droid2), but I'm assuming that wouldn't help me. I have the unlimited plan from before they started the tiers, btw.

You don't need any plan for wifi. If you wanted to add a 3G or 4G connection then yes, you'd need another plan, which won't be unlimited data.

Note:
No celular plan is required for WiFi - however - WiFi is location specific, unlike cellular that's effectively everywhere
So a WiFi tablet will work where WiFi routers are up and running and unlocked...

Example: Starbucks / Coffee Shops / Book Stores / Urses office / The Airport... etc.
