Avg Attendance/per game
App St: 28,031 FCS leader
Michigan: 111,900 FBS leader

St. Francis: 1410 FCS cellar
Eastern Michigan 4267 FBS cellar (so much for that 15,000 rule by the NCAA)

If they don't enforce that rule just get rid of it. This is a joke.

Not a bad showing for Furman at over 11,000 per game. Particularly considering the home slate this year had four schools without large fanbases.

JSUBison no doubt, the ironic thing is THIS DORK STARTS AN ATTENDENCE THREAD and his team averaged about 3600 actual butts in seats. what a moron.

I didn't know you were at every Sioux game counting all the butts in the seats. According to this UND averaged 7841. Not bad since half our home games were against NON-DI opponents.

FACTS, Eluding LakesBison for years.

My reason for this thread is more of a slam to that NCAA 15,000 FBS rule and how many teams break that rule. Eastern Michagan sold 50,000 seats to Pepsi for $3.00 just to boost their numbers. If they got rid of that rule I think more teams would be interested in moving up to the FBS.

I'll bet that if you took a poll of who Bison fans like better, Darrell1976 would smoke your *** lakes.

To get back to Darrell's point - yes, it is annoying that the NCAA has set a bar that prevents FCS teams from moving up but does not penalize FBS teams from falling way under the line. It might be interesting to completely rewrite that: Any team that falls below that level for three straight years is automatically put in a probationary league and loses its former league affiliations, and forfeits any shares/profits from any tv deals that league has. The conferences can then take their pick of any team within their geographic footprint that has maintained that number.

Now THAT would make this a whole lot more interesting.

According to box score on TSN, only about 2500 at the JMU/EKU game? I watched some on TV and I must say I was surprised by all the empty seats on the home side, even for a Thanksgiving weekend. Still I would have guessed the attendance around 4-5,000.

It's happens. If the campus is closed there will be no students. Also, most campuses let students in for free and if you have not paid for admission all year long its hard to get the kids to part with their beer money.

Stony Brook @ 5,121? Not good for a first place team......

It includes the Coastal Carolina game in the monsoon, which only drew 1600. Our numbers would be slightly over 6K otherwise.

We have the fanbase. Lafayette, Brown, Liberty, and Albany proved that. We just need the right opponents. VMI may be a draw down south, but our fanbase has made it quite clear that they couldn't care less about pretty much ANY Big South opponent we face. Fact is, until the bottom of the conference becomes competitive, there's no incentive to see them play unless you've heard of the school...which SBU fans usually have not.
