Hey - being a solid ASU fan I hate to put GSU in the winners circle but I think the ASU-GSU will mean a lot and believe that both can get to the title game - so hard to tell on the other conferences - but I think the Socon was very very good this year - I just hate that ASU and GSU were put on the same side - you guys will beat ODU soundly I think - who knows on NDSU - good news is both of our teams seem to thrive with big crowds so right now I give you the edge if either of us gets to the title game I think we win...Wofford will sadly not win they seem to fade this time of year...

The lesser team will be sacrificed to Russ Heusman and Chattanooga will just go bang all the moms of the remaining team. They will be handed the National championship trophy when they cumulatively finish. This is how the 1985 Bears and 1972 Dolphins were formed.

Only difference between yours and mine was the final game. I see Montana beating GSU. Montana made excellent adjustments to stop Cal Poly's Triple Option and have improved each game this season. They will shut down GSU's offense and grind out enough points to win. Then again... I could be totally wrong :) Will be fun watching it all play out.

The lesser team will be sacrificed to Russ Heusman and Chattanooga will just go bang all the moms of the remaining team. They will be handed the National championship trophy when they cumulatively finish. This is how the 1985 Bears and 1972 Dolphins were formed.

I personally like how nobody on this board even thought Montana was worthy of being mentioned as a NC contender until they saw Montana play against MSU. Been trying to tell people all season that Montana had the tools, just needed to get the kinks out adjusting to the new offensive and defensive schemes that were implemented last year. Now with that all being said, I still don't know which teams are truly the strongest and won't until the second round. I just hope we keep playing like we have the last couple of weeks.

Since my Texas State Bobcats do not have a dog in the hunt I can offer these points

Our rivals at Sam Houston have a fine team. Our team had a good game plan against them last weekend losing 20-14 in the third quarter only to lose the game 36-14 in the fourth quarter. I will offer my opinions of Sam Houston and make a prediction at the end of my post. I will start by saying our Texas State team in 2005 was a tremendous team that lost to UNI in OT of the semi-finals 48-45. I bring this point because Sam Houston has the offense to be a dangerous team this year but defense in the Southland seems to be suspect as pointed out by the power teams in FCS. The key to Sam Houston is Bell their QB. If your defense can get to Bell then Sam Houston will have a tough day. Bell is an efficient QB who makes very few mistakes. We had sacked Bell twice last weekend and hurried him a few times more. Bell has a decent O line but they were tested by Texas State defensive players thru three quarters. Sam Houston did a fine job of completing the game by rising to the occasion in the fourth quarter. Sam Houston is going to be tougher to beat at home. This is the key to my prediction. Since Sam Houston is guaranteed home field thru the semi-finals I will predict Sam Houston makes it to the semi-finals eliminating whoever they face up to the semi-finals. I see Wofford or Montana meeting Sam Houston in the semi-finals. This game is a pivotal point for Sam Houston. Sam Houston will be challenged at this point and could win or lose depending on their O Line, Their D is bend but don't break mentality forcing you to make mistakes. I think Sam Houston has a better chance against Montana. So I am going out on a limb to predict Wofford or Sam Houston is in one side of the National Championship game with Georgia Southern or North Dakota State in the other side of the bracket. Sam Houston has that special chemistry much like our 2005 Bobcat team that lost in the semi-finals.
My final prediction is Sam Houston against North Dakota State for the national title in Frisco Texas.

Sam Houston is well coached both offensively and defensively. Their coaches have made adjustments at half that send them into overdrive. That McNeese team you are referring too was good but less focused than this Sam team. Sam Houston having home field advantage looms large for any team thinking they come in for a cakewalk.:D Texas State has had some barn burners in Huntsville. They have always seemed able to step up their play in Huntsville.

Texas State had the #4 seed in 2005. ( Defeated Georgia Southern and Cal Poly before losing to UNI in OT 48-45 in the semi-finals) This Sam team is similar to our 2005 team. They have a special chemistry that could take them far into the playoffs.

Sorry kat-backer, I realize you're always right, but Montana State's QB is from Texas so he's bound to roll your team. Heck his Mom will probably be in the stands. I am sure he loves his mother, so don't think for a minute he will let her down! He'll probably eat some decent bbq brisket before the game, maybe even knocking it down with a Lone Star. I see a statement game from a recently well fed, son who loves his mother, who's angry and bitter SHSU didn't offer him a scholarship closer to home so he could see his momma more often! OK, so the love of his mother wasn't enough to put MSU over the top. I blame it on the tears in his eyes being overcome with emotion for the love of his mother. Or, perhaps it was the fear of getting pounded and/or intercepted again? Either way I've been consistent missing one game in each round. If that trend continues I will be missing the NDSU / Geo. Southern outcome.

This week I don't foresee a beat down. My hunch is this will still be up in the air in the fourth quarter. Though I do foresee Bell and Sincere with sad tears in their eyes as their season comes to an abrupt end. Wish I could join you in Huntsville for that brisket, beer, and good football game. With these two teams it could be epic. Go Griz!
